BABOR Beauty Launch

The BABOR Beauty Launch took place yesterday, the 17th of July at the BABOR Head Office in Lonehill. Beauty Editors and representatives from a stunning range of publications were present and BABOR was thrilled to introduce them to SKINOVAGEPX and Dr BABOR.
The Boardroom looked stunning and was decorated in true BABOR style. SKINOVAGEPX and Dr BABOR displays were placed throughout the boardroom, product packaging was on show, while stunning roses and lilies added a fresh fragrance and a touch of something special to the morning.
The presentation by BABOR Beauty Professional Jessica Jacobs, was very interesting and informative and the products being discussed were passed around so that the ladies were able to test, feel and smell them as Jessica explained each product, its ingredients and benefits.
After the presentation, champagne and delicate canapés were served. Belles Patisserie platters tantalized the taste buds and guests were treated to mini veggie wraps with a sweet chilli sauce, crème fraiche and dill Sushi,  mini slow roasted tomato and herb tartlets with Danish feta and  mini beef fillet kebabs with a relish. Mini French macaroons and Mini red velvet cupcakes were also served for ladies with a sweet tooth.  www.bellespatisserie.co.za

The Les Nouvelles esthetiques Spa Conference

The Les Nouvelles esthetiques Spa Conference
The 8th ANNUAL Les Nouvelles esthetiques Spa Conference 2012 took place on the 8th and 9th July 2012 at the Monte Casino Ballroom in Johannesburg. The BABOR team attended the two day conference and as always were proud to represent BABOR.
We all met on Saturday at Monte Casino to set up for the event. Our creative juices were flowing as we assembled banners, put together displays and arranged roses to create a stand that would look stunning and perfectly represent BABOR, once finished and happy we left for the evening, content in the fact that a good job had been done.

Sunday was an early start but we didn’t want to miss a thing. The conference was due to start at 9:30 and with wonderful speakers lined up we knew that the day was going to be very informative and interesting. “Expanding your Spas Potential”, “Brand Leadership” and “Innovation through Imagination” were just some of the great presentations on the first day and with so many people to meet, catch up with and introduce to BABOR, the day flew by.  Before we knew it the Les Nouvelles Sunday night Gala dinner had arrived and it was time to relax and enjoy the company of friends and colleagues in the industry.

Leigh-Anne, Shannon and Laura-Beth attended the Gala Dinner on behalf of the BABOR team.  Guests were dressed up to the nines, many of them looking gorgeous while others looked nervous as they waited to hear who the winners of the many nominations were.
We want to congratulate all nominations and winners who took home awards on the evening.  A special mention goes out to Amani Spas Group Operations Manager Chantelle Parsons who was up for the The Spa Management Excellence Award Nomination, and congratulations to Ilze Bowen from Spa de la Veille on taking home the award.
The Gala dinner was a great success and while some stayed to party the night away, others returned back to their hotel suites and homes to get some beauty sleep for Day Two of the conference.

Day two was just as great as day one and was filled with informative knowledge and great presentations. An Out of the Box Marketing Panel Discussion had the guests debating particular beauty industry topics while a presentation on Communication Strategies by Rianette Leibowitz had spa managers and owners thinking about integrated communication strategies they could implement in the future.
Both days were very exciting and it was great to be part of such an important event in the beauty industry. Thank you to Dr Nadine de Freitas and the Les Nouvelles team for such a successful conference.  BABOR looks forward to next year!

The BABOR Journey

BABOR SA is blogging and what better way to begin than with the BABOR journey.
BABOR South Africa was bought over 21 years ago by childhood sweethearts Lynn-Ann and Dirk Fuchsloch.  Lynn-Ann ran her own beauty salon, while Dirk, who studied BSc Building and Civil Engineering was just starting off his career in the building industry.
Four months into their brand new marriage, the news that House of Gallia was selling BABOR, a brand that beauty professional  Lynn-Ann knew well, came to her in the form of a driver and friend named David who mentioned during a relaxed conversation that he would be missing her because BABOR was being sold and he would no longer be delivering her salon products on a regular basis.
This passing comment was the start of something new. After closing up the salon as quickly as she could, Lynn-Ann dashed home to chat to her hubby Dirk; the newly weds decided that they were going to take the risk and put in an offer for BABOR, little did they know that their first baby, BABOR, was on the way, their offer had been accepted and a whole new adventure had just begun.
With a brand new marriage, company and little experience in running their own businesses, the two beat all odds and nurtured, loved and grew the brand in to what BABOR is today. The company journey has been full of blood, sweat and tears but mostly joy, success and gratification.
Lynn-Ann and Dirk share a special relationship as business partners, husband and wife and more importantly friends. It has been their friendship and commitment to one another and the business that has seen the brand flourish over the years. Once BABOR was up and running, the couple then started a family and welcomed in their two beautiful boys Michael and Bradley, completing their family.
BABOR SA is not only a brand. To many BABOR is the beautiful product that adds luxury to a bathroom shelf, to others it is the solution to their skin insecurities. It may be someone’s indulgent skin routine in the evenings or their energizing lift in the morning before work. What ever BABOR means to you, remember that this is just not a skincare range, it is a brand that aims to provide people with products that have been made with passion and intelligence, that are beautiful on the outside but full of innovative ingredients within. It is the story of a young couple who were not scared to take a risk and believed in the beauty of BABOR and we’re so happy that they did.
What would one do without BABOR!
