In 1956 the German biochemist Dr. Michael Babor developed HY-ÖL, an oil-based cleanser. He thus laid the foundations for many prize-winning innovations – and for the BABOR Company. Holding our heritage high she says: “I was born in Johannesburg South Africa in October, the only daughter in a family of five. After completing school at 18 I took the opportunities given to me to travel the world through my modelling career.”

Blue Valley Health & Beauty Spa catch World Cup Fever

Within the beauty industry the ‘Brazilian’ has already made its claim to fame. But, there is something else the Brazilian women are famous for – their beautiful bodies!

Blue Valley Health & Beauty Spa supported by BABOR hosted a celebratory champagne breakfast during the peak of the world cup month at the estate’s clubhouse. Brightly decorated tables and celebratory music enveloped guests as they enjoyed an informative presentation on how to get their bodies to match those of the Brazilians. 

An array of professional and home use body shaping products was explained by a trained BABOR beauty professional to help guests select the right treatment for their body concerns. 

This included the DOCTOR BABOR BODY CELLULAR range with highly concentrated active complexes to target major body concerns such as cellulite, stretch marks and varicose veins. After a lucky draw the winner furthermore received a generous BABOR product gift hamper to take home and enjoy.

On May 15th 2014 the Fragrance Foundation Germany hosted the German Fragrance Awards "Deutscher Parfumpreis DUFTSTARS". BABOR joined this prestigious event and welcomed guests into their stylish beauty lounge . For the very first time Germany’s leading professional skincare brand partnered up with DUFTSTARS. The luxury skin care label from Aachen, Germany, presented product heroes, such as the highly effective BABOR ampoules, as well as its treatment philosophy for perfumeries.

“Fragrance and skin care are two aspects of one common fascination: beauty. That is why we are so pleased to be able to invite the guest of DUFTSTARS into the world of BABOR”, said BABOR CEO Michael Schummert. The effective and modern product portfolio as well as the company’s treatment expertise supported by state-of-the-art devices attracted industry pro's and celebrities alike. BABOR Face Design Director Peter Schmidinger also styled guest at a separate make-up station. 

The glamorous event was hosted by charming German TV-presenter Barbara Schöneberger and many other celebrities joined her to celebrate the most important award of the fragrance industry. The actresses Christine Neubauer and Mirja DuMont were spotted on the red carpet. So were designer Roberto Cavalli, Bonnie Strange, Maxi Arland and Armin Morbach. Many of those celebrities also visited the BABOR Lounge. Lisa Stansfield’s performance was one of the highlights of the evening.

2. From a standing position, take a big step forward, keeping your back straight. Bend your back leg at the knee. Hold this position briefly, then return to the starting position. Complete the exercise with one leg, then switch legs.

3. Lie on your back and bend your legs at the hip. Tense your stomach and your buttocks. Raise only your hips off the floor and hold this position for 10-15 seconds. Repeat 10 times.

4. Lie on your back. Bend your knees and place your feet flat on the floor. Place your arms at your sides. Raise your hips and your right leg off the floor, then do the same with your left leg. Alternate sides and hold each position for 10-15 seconds. Repeat 10 times.

BABOR organizes auctions to support clean water

BABOR gave 6000 Euro to the humanitarian organization Solidarités International based in Paris, France. As BABOR is re-launching its cleansing product series the company had organized two auctions in which it sold various pieces of art that deal with the theme water to its international customers. The auctions took place during the company’s international conferences in Vienna, Austria, and Belek, Turkey, which brought together more than 300 of BABOR’s most important clients. The auction proceeds are going to support Solidarités International, an organization that is dedicated to bringing people clean drinking water all around the world. “Water is source for all life. In Europe we often take for granted that it is clean and just always there”, explains Jutta Kleine-Tebbe, BABOR chairwoman of the board of administration. On January 17^th, she personally handed over the cheque to Camille Niel of Solidarités International during her visit to BABOR’s headquarter in Aachen.

The re-launch of BABOR’s cleansing product line also gives a BABOR classic a facelift. The HY-OIL, an unique 2-phase cleansing product, was developed in 1956 by Dr. Michael BABOR, laying the foundation of the company. BABOR Spoils

BABOR spoils for my big day & honeymoon

Step back into time with me as I prepared for my big day. The weeks before the wedding saw me BABOR-Beauty-Prepping my skin to ensure it looked radiant for when I said my I-do’s.  As most brides-to-be my stress levels were high as the last minute rush kicked in and the final arrangements were made. During such a time, skin can show signs of stress but I was lucky to be treated to an indulgent BABOR facial to ensure it looked anything but.
